“GazpromNeft” and Japanese “Mitsui” Intend to Use Alternative Fuels in Sea and River Transport

“GazpromNeft” and the Japanese “Mitsui” trading and investment company signed an agreement of intent to implement decarbonization projects in Russia and the regions where the companies operate, says the press release by “GazpromNeft”.

The partners intend to develop innovative solutions for the implementation of CCS projects (“Carbon Capture and Storage”).

In addition, “GazpromNeft” and “Mitsui” plan to develop comprehensive projects for the production of “blue” hydrogen, as well as the use of alternative fuels in sea and river transport.

In addition, in 2021, “GazpromNeft” signed a number of agreements in the field of reducing CO2 emissions, hydrogen energy and improving the environmental friendliness of fuels with major metallurgical companies.
