The FESCO Transport Group (FESCO, Group) for the first time organized the delivery of fresh grapes in refrigerated containers from India to Vladivostok with transshipment in the port of Shanghai. This was reported by the company’s press service. The transportation operator was Dalreftrans, which is responsible at FESCO for transporting goods that require temperature control.

“Grapes with a total weight of 80 tons were loaded into four 40-foot refrigerated containers at the warehouse of the Indian exporter. After that, the batch was delivered to the port of Nava Sheva, where it was loaded onto the Group’s vessel and sent to Shanghai by the FESCO Baltorient Line (FBOL) marine service,” the statement said.

In the Chinese port, the grapes were reloaded onto another container ship of the Group, which went directly to the Vladivostok Commercial Port (VMTP, part of FESCO) as part of the FESCO China Direct Line (FCDL). The transit time from India to the capital of Primorsky Krai was 35 days.

Andrey Grechkin, General Director of Dalreftrans: “We see great potential in the new route, because Vladivostok is also a logistics hub, from where cargo can be sent to other Far Eastern regions via cabotage routes”.

FESCO is actively developing the geography of cargo deliveries in refrigerated containers. Thus, in early March, the company “Dalreftrans” sent refrigerated containers from Novorossiysk to two new ports – Hamad (Qatar) and Shuwaikh (Kuwait), and in January for the first time organized the delivery of food products from Moscow to the port of Jebel Ali (UAE).
