The Chukotka Autonomous Region will purchase two more airboats in 2025 to transport residents across the Anadyr River Estuary. The vessels will be purchased using funds from the regional budget, Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov wrote in his Telegram channel.
“The speedboats that transport our residents in heavy weather and ice conditions are in great demand. Therefore, this year we plan to purchase two more of the same airboats using regional budget,” he wrote.
The Governor recalled that, the region received five similar airboats in 2024 financed by the reserve fund of the Russian government, which began operating on October 30. Over two months, November-December 2024, the vessels transported more than 6.6 thousand passengers.
As reported earlier by PortNews, in April 2024 the Government of the Russian Federation allocated funds for the purchase of four Sever 750K Long airboats and one Phantom 850A airboat. The contract with the supplier, which was Severboat LLC as a result of the tender, was concluded at an initial (maximum) price of 120 million rubles. The transfer of the new vessels took place in September 2024.
