The issue of regular shipments on this route under discussion

At the end of 2024, “SpetsTransGarant” (STG) organized the first multimodal transportation of tank containers from Lugansk to China. The benzene cargo traveled by rail across the territory of the Russian Federation to Vostochny Port, then the containers were loaded onto a ship and sent by sea to the port of Qingdao (PRC), the company’s press service reports.

On the way back from China, the tank containers were loaded with goods from the Chinese industry and sent to recipients in Russia.

“Expansion of the network of international multimodal routes is one of the key areas of development for our company. We are working on various logistics solutions, this time for the first time – for “New Regions”. At the moment, we are discussing regular shipments with the client, there is interest in this,” the report says.

The company also notes the potential of tank containers in terms of multimodal transportation of hazardous goods. This method of delivery allows for the safe delivery of products using several means of transport, eliminating the need to reload from one container to another, which saves time and reduces costs.

STG is a Russian operator for the transportation of liquefied gases and bulk chemical cargo in tank containers. It has been operating in the Russian transport services market since 2004. The company’s fleet includes 8.1 thousand tank containers and 4.3 thousand platforms, the capacity of the storage areas for tank containers is 1 thousand TEU, and the annual volume of cargo transportation is 1.6 million tons.
