Line carrier plans to switch to servicing Red Sea routes

Shipping company CStar Line (UAE) has decided to abandon most of its feeder services in the Russian Far East in favor of more profitable routes in the Red Sea, the company’s website reported.
“We have made a strategic decision to begin curtailing our services in the ports of the Russian Far East from July 22 until complete cessation of operations by the second half of September 2024. This will allow us to redirect resources to improve and expand services in other key regions, including the newly opened routes in the Red Sea,” the official statement said.
CStar Line plans to shut down three services (FEFE1, FEFE2 and FEFE 4) that connect the Vostochny port with the ports of China and South Korea. Five vessels operated on these routes.
The company assured that “all current deliveries under issued bills of lading will continue, which guarantees no disruptions to operations.”
