The railway’s carrying capacity to the ports in the Tatar Strait will double by 2025

“Russian Railways” (RZhD) opened traffic on the second reconstructed section of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur – Vanino line, part of the Baikal – Amur Railway (BAM) in 2024. A section of the railway passes through the Sikhote – Alin ridge. To secure the infrastructure, 15 culverts were updated. To expand the haul, railway workers laid more than 9 km of track and 12 turnouts, and dumped about 340 thousand cubic meters of roadbed, about 100 km of various cable lines were installed.
On the Komsomolsk-on-Amur – Vanino section, another 30 facilities are to be reconstructed in 2024. As a result, the line’s carrying capacity to ports located in the Tatar Strait will double by the beginning of 2025, from 40 million to 82 million tons.
