In 2024, 11 sunken ships will be raised, which includes operations under government contracts

In the Primorsky Territory, over the past two years, 16 sunken ships have been lifted out of the water and dismantled as part of the federal project “General Cleaning”. Plans for the current year include disposing 11 more units, eight of which will be lifted under government contracts. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities of the region.
12 ships were lifted out of the water in Truda Bay on Russky Island. A tugboat and a fishing trawler were raised in the Vladimir Bay near the seaport of Olga. Also, a floating dock was lifted out of the water in Diomede Bay, and a small vessel was raised in Strelok Bay.
According to the Ministry, this year the works will be carried out in the bays of the island territories of Vladivostok, Khasansky district and Nakhodka.
According to the monitoring data from port services, there are about 80 different objects in the waters of the Primorsky Territory. Those that affect the safety of navigation are removed first.
The ministry noted that the work includes a wide range of operations: from drawing up an optimal project of lifting the vessel to dismantling it in parts and subsequent transportation to shore. The choice of method for lifting a vessel onto land depends on its size, degree of corrosion, depth of location, and fuel residues.
It should be noted that 95.8 million rubles have been allocated to clean the region’s waters. Currently, preparations are underway for the selection of a specialized organization involved in the disposal of sunken objects.
