The new terminal is capable of handling 234 ship calls per year

According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Transport, the construction of a new terminal of the sea border checkpoint was completed in the seaport of Vladivostok, within the site of LLC Sea Port Sukhodol.
The compliance of the new territory, buildings and facilities for the organization of border, customs and other control with all necessary requirements was checked by an interdepartmental commission, which included representatives of the Department of State Policy in the field of arrangement of checkpoints across the state border of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, Federal State Public Institution Rosgranstroy and state control bodies.
The throughput capacity of the new terminal, equipped with the most advanced equipment for carrying out control procedures at the border, is 12 million tons of coal (234 ship calls) per year. The terminal is expected to operate 24 hours a day. Experts note that the operation of the new terminal will significantly increase the throughput of the sea checkpoint and facilitate access to the port infrastructure for small and medium-sized coal mining enterprises.
A cooperation agreement on the creation of a multifunctional port and transshipment complex in the Primorsky Territory near Sukhodol Bay was signed in September 2021 during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). It is also planned to build a deep-sea container terminal with a capacity of 3 million TEU (the second stage of the project) and a grain cargo terminal (the third stage of the project) in Sukhodol Bay by 2025 and 2027 respectively. The total cargo turnover of the port will be over 70 million tons.
