Federal budget funds will provide 12 billion rubles for constructing land distrubution infrastructure.
As PortNews reported, NOVATEK is constructing an LNG terminal in Bechevinskaya Bay in Kamchatka and its analogue in the Murmansk region. The terminals are designed for transshipment of LNG from ice-class gas carriers traveling along the Northern Sea Route from the Ob’ Bay area, short-term storage of LNG in floating gas storage facilities and its shipment to gas carriers that do not have ice reinforcement. Part of the gas delivered to the offshore transshipment complex in Bechevinskaya Bay will be used to meet the municipal needs of the Kamchatka Territory. The first floating gas storage facility, UGS ‘Koryak’, was delivered to the construction site of NOVATEK’s Eastern offshore transshipment facility in July 2023.
