By 2027, it is planned to more than double the volume of hydrographic works on the NSR

15%, or 352 thousand linear km of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) waters has been studied. This was announced by Alexander Bengert, head of the Hydrographic Enterprise FSUE, during the XIII International Forum “The Arctic: Present and Future”, PortNews IAA reported.

Alexander Bengert noted that for further research, the enterprise plans to increase the annual volume of hydrographic works. It is planned to carry out surveys of 46,199 km of the area with the involvement of three hydrographic vessels by the end of 2023. From 2024, it is planned to involve a new fleet, to increase the number of hydrographic vessels to five, and to survey 71 thousand km of the area by the end of the year.

In 2027, with the commissioning of a new Arc7 ice class vessel, it is planned to carry out hydrographic works on 100 thousand km water area.

Hydrographic Enterprise FSUE (part of the Rosatom state corporation) provides navigation and hydrographic support for NSR navigation, acts as a customer-developer for new construction projects and operates port infrastructure within the boundaries of the NSR waters.
