The Sukhodol specialized coal terminal made the first shipment of coal in the mode of commissioning and comprehensive testing of equipment, the Administration of Primorsky Krai and the Eastern Arctic reports.
The enterprise was built in the Shkotovsky district of the Primorsky Territory as part of the federal project “Development of Sea Ports” of the national project for the modernization of transport infrastructure.
Loading onto the vessel “H VESTAL”, moored at berth No. 1, lasted 91 hours. The process involved highly specialized port equipment. From the warehouse, coal entered the conveyor belt through a stacker-reclaimer, passed through transfer stations and a ship-loader, and then was poured into the hold.
In total, 44 thousand tons of high-quality Kuzbass coal were loaded on board. Even in the pre-commissioning mode, the loading of the first vessel went smoothly, confirming the terminal’s readiness to reach full capacity of the first stage.
The Sukhodol specialized coal seaport includes a transport and transhipment complex and internal and external infrastructure facilities, including power supply facilities, railway infrastructure, and federal property.
The capacity of the Sukhodol port at the first stage will be 2 million tons of coal per year; it may take up to two years to reach the planned levels.
In the future, the terminal of Sukhodol Sea Port LLC intends to increase cargo turnover to 12 million tons and gradually to 20 million tons of coal per year.
The development of Far Eastern seaports and adjacent transport infrastructure is one of the key tasks set by the state, in the context of Russia’s economic and logistical orientation turning to the East.
