The FESCO transport group plans to increase the number of ships on the “Baltorient Line” (FBOL), connecting the Big Port of St. Petersburg with China. This follows from the presentation of German Maslov, FESCO Vice President for Linear Logistics Division, made at the session “Development of logistics infrastructure and services along the routes of the Eurasian transport corridors” as part of “Transport Week 2023” in Moscow. As of August 2023, four vessels were operating on the line; at the end of 2023, five vessels should be operating, and in April 2024, their number will increase to six.
FESCO’s direct maritime service has connected the ports of China and the port of St. Petersburg via the Suez Canal since mid-March 2023. The new container ship ‘Kapitan Shchetinina’ was the first vessel to operate on the FBOL.
The ships use CTSP terminal (Container Terminal St. Petersburg) at the Big Port of St. Petersburg. The frequency of port calls was once every 21 days in 2023; in 2024, it is planned to increase to once every 12 days.
In addition, in December 2023, the company plans to open the Novorossiysk – Egypt service, within which it will mainly transport refrigerated containers, but also standard containers.
